Hi - it's actually me, Kristan, posting! Thanks Kim for all of your work in setting up and updating Jesse's blog.
I just got a few hour sleep and was coming up to see Jesse, praying that God would continue to strengthen Jesse's little heart. When I came in I could see the red line on the monitor was once again moving up and down. His heart has started to pump again. It is a very weak pump, but a good inital step toward his recovery. I was reminded that "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26). He is in God's hands, and those are the hands we want to be in!
Our Blessing Named Jesse
Jesse Quintin was born September 26, 2007, the much-loved fifth son of Kristan and Chad. He was diagnosed shortly after birth with AV Canal Heart Defect and Down Syndrome. Thursday, January 10th, Jesse had surgery to repair his heart defect. Friday morning he suddenly went into cardiac arrest. After 45 min. of CPR he was attached to life support. By God's healing hand his heart started to beat again and he came off life support on January 13. We created this blog to keep everyone updated.

Kristan and Chad,
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news that Jesse's heart has begun to beat on its own! Your entire family is in my continued thoughts and prayers.

Kristan that is good news that Jesse's heart is starting to beat on its own. I was up in the night praying for you and God brought that scripture to me. That with God all things are possible
ReplyDeleteMatthew 19:26. We will keep praying
for Jesse and your family.

Kristan and Chad,
ReplyDeleteYou are continually in my prayers. Psalm 46:1 says "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble." It is encouraging to hear of Jesse's inprovement. Love, Suzanne
Dear Kristan,
ReplyDeleteWe're praising the Lord that Jesse's heart is responding and pumping some on it's own again. Isa 41:10 We just keep praying and trusting, with the faith of a child trusting our loving heavenly Father. Samuel found something of Jesse's in the toy box, and exclaimed, 'Jesse's!!'. Hazel asked him where Jesse was, and he said, 'getting his heart fixed.' (in that cute way he has like 'don't you even know the simplest things?'.
our hearts are with you.
love Twila
Psalm 71: 19 - 23 "Your righteousness reaches to the skies, O God, you who have done great things. Who, O God, is like you? Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you--" It is wonderful news to hear that Jesse heart is beating again. May this be a special day for all of you. Earline
ReplyDeleteKristen and Chad,
ReplyDeleteWe continue to pray for you and we prayed last night at bible study.
Our Lord is a wonderful God. Continue to draw close to Him. He will give you comfort and strength as you continue to seek refuge in His arms.
It was wonderful to hear Jesse's heart has begun beating on His own and its so comforting to know he is also being cradled in Jesus arms as his heart strives to heal.
In Christ,
Craig and Julie

ReplyDeleteKristan & Chad,
ReplyDeleteIt is very encouraging to know that many people are praying for Jesse and that prayers are being answered. I was excited to hear that Jesse's heart has started beating.
I also listened to Kristan's testimony again and the strength that you have can only come from Christ.
We love you and continue to pray for God's hand in Jesse's life.

Dear Kristan and Chad,
ReplyDeleteI spoke with Aimee yesterday and she shared with me the news about Jesse. Had a hard time sleeping and said a little prayer each time I woke up in the night. What a wonderful call I received this morning from Bonnie... that Jesse's heart is getting stronger and that I could read your words and know that the two of you are holding tightly to each other and to your faith. You and the boys will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Thank-you for keeping up this blog and allowing all of us to share in this miraculous story of family love and faith. Butterfly kisses to Jesse and hugs to all of you.
Love Maria

Kristan and Chad,
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome news that Jesse's heart began beating again! We will continue to pray that God strengthens his little heart with each moment. God has led you down and will continue to lead you on an amazing journey in which only He can control each of the details, and as we witness you on this path, we are each blessed by your strength in Christ and by watching the way God is working. Kristan - it was great to hear you have a chance to post this morning and we pray that you and Chad continue to stay strong and rest in God's amazing love.
Kinlie shares - God will always be by your side.
