Our Blessing Named Jesse

Jesse Quintin was born September 26, 2007, the much-loved fifth son of Kristan and Chad. He was diagnosed shortly after birth with AV Canal Heart Defect and Down Syndrome. Thursday, January 10th, Jesse had surgery to repair his heart defect. Friday morning he suddenly went into cardiac arrest. After 45 min. of CPR he was attached to life support. By God's healing hand his heart started to beat again and he came off life support on January 13. We created this blog to keep everyone updated.

Newest Updates

Jesse hadn't pee'd in several hours, but praise God, now he did. Please continue to pray for kidney function.

His blood pressure is fluxuating too much - going up too high & down too low. That needs to level out. Pray that his blood pressure stays strong & steady.

The next step is for Jesse to level out so they can close up his chest.

Matthew, Collin & Sam, along with the Brompton family, came to visit today. It was so good to see them.

Thank you for your prayers.

  4. With so many prayers being lifted up for Jesse's heart, I looked up some passages on the heart. I hope they will be an encouragement to you.

    Ps. 27:1,3
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

    Ps. 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him.

    Jn. 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Our love to both of you,
    Jake and Julie Erisman

  5. Dear Kristan and Chad and all of Jesse's wonderful family, I feel truly blessed to be a part of Jesse care here at Children's Hospital. From the moment I met Jesse, I knew just how special he is. He is truly such a beautiful and strong little guy and I pray that he can come through this very difficult time. I am so happy he made it off ECMO. That is truly testimony to the power of prayer. He is fortunate to have such a loving, wonderful family. God bless you all. Love, Karrie

  6. Dear Ones: You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your faith and courage are an inspiration to us all!!

Would like to share the old hymn by William Cowper (1731-1800)

    GOD MOVES IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS

    His wonders to perform
Hisplants his footstseps in the sea
    And rides upon the storm.

    Deep in unfathomable mines
    Of never-failing skill
He treasures up his bright designs
    And works his sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take.
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break
    In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace:
    Behind a frowning providence
    He hides a smiling face.

Blind unbelief is sure to err,
    And scan his work in vain;
    God is his own interpreter,
And he will make it plain.

  7. Our prayers are there for all of you as you go through this challenging time in life. Jesse is beautiful and what a blessing. Keep seeking God's miracles in all that is happening. It is His plan and He will never falter.

“Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonian 5:16-18
